Support athletes at the moments that matter most
MOMentum is building the MOMentum Athlete Care Network, a free directory connecting elite Canadian athletes with practitioners and professionals supporting pregnancy, postpartum, and family planning. We’re seeking practitioners with experience working with athletes, or those committed to providing informed, athlete-centred care in this space.
The MOMentum Athlete Care Network is a free directory connecting elite Canadian athletes with practitioners and professionals who can support them through pregnancy, postpartum, and family planning. Whether you work directly in perinatal or reproductive care, offer legal or financial services to athletes, or have another kind of expertise you think would be valuable, we want to hear from you.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If your expression of interest is a strong fit, a member of the MOMentum team will be in touch within 2–3 weeks to schedule a brief conversation before finalizing your listing.
What is the network?
Why this is needed
When we talk to elite Canadian athletes about pregnancy and family planning, we hear the same things over and over… they don't know where to start. They can't find a physiotherapist who's actually worked with high-performance athletes postpartum. They have no idea what their carding agreement says about maternity leave, or whether their sport organization is even legally required to support them. They're Googling fertility clinics at 11pm because no one in their training environment has ever brought it up.
This isn't a niche problem. Whether an athlete is actively planning a pregnancy, considering fertility options, or just starting to ask questions, the gap between what they need and what they can access is significant, and the consequences are real. Research shows that access to the right information and support at the right time is one of the factors that determines whether an athlete stays in sport or walks away from it entirely.
Our network exists to close that gap.
Who are we looking for?
How will it work?
The MOMentum Athlete Care Network is a living, actively maintained resource on our website, not a static list. Our goal is to keep it current, searchable, and genuinely useful for elite athletes navigating pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and family planning, while continually growing the network of trusted practitioners over time.
Listing in the network is completely free, with no cost to apply or be included. We also aim to actively highlight and amplify the work of practitioners within the network. Where appropriate, we may feature practitioners and their work through MOMentum’s channels to help increase visibility for those working in this space.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If your expression of interest is a strong fit, a member of the MOMentum team will be in touch within 2–3 weeks to arrange a brief follow-up conversation before finalizing your listing.
FAQ
-
No. We ask all practitioners whether they'd consider a preferred rate or free consultation for athletes who come through MOMentum, but it won't affect your listing eligibility.
-
Yes. Many elite Canadian athletes train internationally. If you work with athletes virtually or are based outside Canada, we'd still love to hear from you.
-
The network is a curated, values-aligned network rather than an open advertising space. Applications are reviewed for relevant experience, athlete-centred practice, and alignment with supporting elite athletes through pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, and family planning. Practitioners who are a strong fit are invited to a short follow-up conversation prior to listing.
-
Please fill out the form anyway, there's an open pathway for practitioners who may not fix neatly into a box but who would like to support.
