THE MOMENTUM
PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK
01 WHY WE CREATED THE NETWORK
We created this network because every athlete deserves someone who understands what they’re going through. Whether you’re thinking about starting a family, navigating fertility questions, or returning to sport postpartum, it can feel overwhelming and isolating. This network is here so you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Here, you can connect with other athletes who’ve been there, swap experiences, and find the kind of support that only comes from people who get it.
02 HOW IT WORKS
Browse through our network of athletes and see who you’d like to connect with. If someone’s story or experience resonates, reach out, or if you’re not sure where to start, that’s okay too.
You can DM us on Instagram, fill out the form below, or send us an email at info@momentumcan.ca. From there, we’ll help make the connection in whatever way works best for you, whether that’s a group chat, an email intro, or a direct message.
If you don’t have a specific athlete in mind, just let us know what topics you’re hoping to talk about, and we’ll introduce you to someone who’s been there.
Once the intro’s made, it’s all yours, we simply help get the conversation started.
03 COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Before you dive in, here’s how we keep this space safe and supportive for everyone. Before you connect with someone, we will share our full guidelines for transparency and further support.
-
This isn’t about professional advice or counselling, it’s about connection. We’re here to listen, share experiences, and learn from one another as athletes navigating similar challenges. If you Need additional support please let us know and we will do our best to connect you to other resources.
-
What’s shared in this network stays within it. Every story and message is treated with respect and privacy, so athletes can speak openly and honestly.
-
There’s no expectation to respond right away or share more than you want to. Connect when it feels right, in whatever way works best for you, keeping in mind to respect each others time.
-
Every athlete brings different experiences and perspectives. We ask everyone to listen with empathy, avoid judgment, and keep each conversations supportive.

“There were times in my career that I wish I had someone to talk to who had similar experiences. I would like the help someone, or even just be there to talk with them or listen.”

“Being a mom and an athlete is the most rewarding work… but it is hard! The more we can support each other in our goals, the better.”
